Delete your QField account
You can delete your QField account at any time, without contacting us. This page explains what deletion does, how to start it, and what data we retain.
What happens when you delete your account
- Your profile information is permanently removed.
- Inspections, defects, photos, and documents you created stay on the project they belong to, but they are no longer linked to your name.
- You are signed out of every device.
- This action cannot be undone.
If you are the only admin of a builder company, you must promote another admin before you can delete your account. Super-admin accounts cannot be deleted from the app — email support@qfield.com.au instead.
Delete from the web app
- Go to builder.qfield.com.au/account/delete.
- Sign in with the email and password for the account you want to delete.
- Read the consequences, tick the acknowledgement, and tap Continue.
- Enter your current password and type DELETE to confirm.
- Tap Delete my account.
You will be signed out and your account will be removed.
Delete from the mobile app
- Open the QField app on iOS or Android.
- Open your Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Follow the on-screen confirmation steps.
Can’t sign in?
If you cannot sign in — for example, you have lost your password — reset it from the sign-in screen first, then use the steps above. If you still cannot delete your account yourself, email support@qfield.com.au from the email address on the account. We will verify your identity and complete the deletion for you within 30 days.
What we retain after deletion
For compliance and construction industry record-keeping obligations, we retain:
- Inspections, defects, fire penetration records, and project documents you created — these stay on the project owned by the builder company, with your name removed.
- Audit log entries that show actions you took, with your name replaced by a system identifier.
- Billing records, where required by Australian tax and accounting law.
See our Privacy Policy for the full retention schedule and your other privacy rights under the Australian Privacy Principles.
